CMS explains that Physician Fee Schedule payments use work, practice expense and malpractice RVUs, geographic practice cost indices and a conversion factor. Beginning in 2026, CMS uses separate conversion factors for qualifying APM participants and other clinicians.
2026 conversion factors
The CMS 2026 Physician Fee Schedule final-rule fact sheet reports a final qualifying APM conversion factor of $33.57 and a final nonqualifying APM conversion factor of $33.40. The calculator uses those rounded published values as presets and lets you enter another conversion factor when you have a more precise or updated source value.
