How the estimate works
The calculator first limits the benefit calculation to the allowed amount. It applies the remaining deductible, then follows the copay/coinsurance order you choose. If you enter a remaining out-of-pocket amount, the patient estimate is capped at that amount.
Why actual EOB amounts can differ
Plans may treat copays, deductibles and coinsurance differently by service type. Network status, coordination of benefits, non-covered services, benefit maximums and payer-specific accumulators can also change the final adjudication. Use the result as an estimate and verify benefits when needed.
