Does the 837P file get uploaded?

The viewer uses browser-side JavaScript and FileReader to read a selected local file. The tool does not need to post the file to a server to display the results.

Is this a complete HIPAA/X12 compliance validator?

No. It performs useful structural and arithmetic checks but does not implement every implementation-guide situational rule or payer-specific edit.

It checks common envelope control-number pairs, ST/SE segment counts, professional-claim implementation version clues, claim/service-line totals and NPIs found in NM1 segments with qualifier XX.
