For paper submission, purchase approved pre-printed CMS-1500 forms and print only the black claim information over the red form. Use alignment controls to keep characters inside the intended fields.
What a color printer can still do
A color or black-and-white copy can be useful for internal records, training, or review. Do not assume a copy produced on ordinary paper is acceptable for claim submission. Check the payer’s current paper-claim instructions.
